Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving. And praying that we all take a few moments to remember what is really important.
As most of you know DH Pastor's a church and in the course of time you see alot and hear alot of stories. This week I had the chance to meet someone that really got my attention.
The lady called wanting to knowif the church helped people who did not attend the church. DH explained to her that as a general rule we tried to help the people in the congregations since alot of them was suffering. But that he would see what we could do.
To make along story short, DH is a trusting soul where I tend to be curiouse. Anyway we personally bought a giftcard from a local grocery store and told her we would meet her or she could come and get it.
She did and I must say I was ashamed of myself.
She is a grandmother trying to raise 4 grandchildren since her daughter and a 3 month old grandbaby was killed by a drunk driver a couple of months ago. The dad decided that he did not want to raise them. She is older and not in good health. And can't get food stamps until the first of December.
There's 2 teen age girls a 10year old boy and a 8 year old girl. From our conversation I gather that the 15 year old girl is very bitter. The 17 year old tries to mother the other.
I said all of that to say this, I am VERY BLESSED. God has really been good to me. I have 3 wonderful sons and 3 wonderful DIL's. And of course the only best grandson there has ever been. To our knowledge we're all healthy. There's peace in our house. Our boys don't fight among theirselves and they don't talk bad about the DIL's as some families do.
I hope you all have a wonderful thanksgiving.
